Obviously, going on a ski holiday requires a little more thought than when packing for a hot holiday. And even more so, when you have children thrown into the mix. There’s nothing worse than a cold child, stuck, half way up a mountain with 2 hours left until your transfer back to the chalet. So the best piece of advice I can give is to be prepared and over compensate. Having ski’d with my 11 year old step-son 3 times now, I have learnt the hard way, what I need to have with me. This family ski holiday kit list will make sure that you are well prepared for your trip.

Before we went on our last trip we were told a story about a child who was skiing with their dad and ended up going down a different run. Effectively the pair were split up and couldn’t get reunited for hours. We therefore took some extra precautions incase of a similar situation.
Business card with your contact details on, zipped into your child’s coat.
€50 / $50 zipped into your child’s coat with details of the hotel/chalet so they could always get a taxi back there.
Great list. We’ve got family in Sweden and will be heading over at some point this year so this will come in very handy.
Thank you. I hope you have a fantastic time. I would love to go to Sweden.
I won a family skiing trip – none of us had skied before and our 2 youngest were 2 and 1! Our 10 year old was amazing and skied to the next town with another family the second day he ever skied! My husband and me were terrible. My little ones had a nanny and they went on the red egg (the cable cars) they had play dates with other children and their own playroom. It was brilliant and (if we can afford it) we will do it again.
