Don’t read too many books about babies. Every child is different and every parent is different, and there is no text book that fits all. Find what works for you, your partner and the baby and stick with it.

We use a potette like this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Potette-Plus-Folding-Travel-Trainer/dp/B001RH2RW4 it is great and easy to carry around if there aren’t toilets nearby. We used this with our first child and currently going through with the second child. We find it is best to ask over and over again if they need to go to the toilet and reward them accordingly when they do it, but not be critical if they do have an accident.

Yes I would agree that routine is a good starting point. There are also good books out there that tell the story of children being scared of the dark that it may be worth trying as these have a positive message, if this is still an issue.

Ewan the Sheep worked pretty well for us, but we also tried to make sure it was the same routine every night e.g. bath, book, bed so they get used to the routine.

Hi Richard, your screenshot doesn’t seem to have worked. Is the error message short enough to type out, or can it be copied and pasted so I can have a look at it please? Many thanks
