is there any truth in the more times you have a child of a certain sex the likelihood of the next being the same increases?

there is an interesting thread discussing it on reddit – https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/33dg93/does_having_girls_or_having_boys_run_genetically/

We lie him down next to us in our bed, lights off and he babbles until he sleeps.

Next step is trying to get him to do it in his own bed!

Cretin. I loved carrying mine, in fact it was the only way we could get him to sleep for a while!

Say goodbye to lie ins. I have replaced them with early nights.

My wife is Greek and speaks to our son 1-1 99% of the time in Greek. I only speak to him in English. He is 2 in June and can say words in both languages. I’m slowly learning the words he is saying as well.

I think the key is consistency.

I have a mate where they all speak both English and German and their 5 year old will mash the both together without realising.

all inclusives are a good shout. Just make sure they have a decent pool/stuff for kids. We went to one in Spain with a 1 year old last year. There were plenty of older kids happily playing in the pool all day.

Not having to cook and a free bar was a godsend. Did get a bit boring after a few days though.

we use it as a last resort. difficult car journeys, aeroplane etc. Hes not 2 yet, and it is such a small amount he watches at the moment.

I don’t want to rely on it as his cousin is inconsolable when he is asked to come eat for example. His dad wants to smash the tablet!

feeding the ducks is a guaranteed way to get my son into his buggy and out of the house.
