Mum is Paying a Stranger £50 an Hour to Take Her Kids Trick or Treating Because She is Too Scared

Mum scared of trick or treating

Don't miss a thing

A scared mum of three has posted a job advert on the UK’s largest platform for childcarers and parents looking for someone to accompany her children trick or treating. The mother is willing to pay £50 an hour, due to being too scared to go out at Halloween.

Sod The Dadsnet, I’m changing my career to a professional trick or treater child carer(!)… for £50 an hour, I can’t go wrong.

The advert appeared on the Childcare.co.uk website last week as the mum says she’s been unable to find anyone else to take her kids.

If you’re in the child care industry and tempted or skint… here’s a link to the advert: https://www.childcare.co.uk/profile/2675936

The mother has stated that she has severe social anxiety and that she gets ‘very scared at Halloween because of the costumes and speaking to strangers to ask for sweets for the kids’. Despite this, she doesn’t want her fear to impact the children and ruin what should be a fun event every child should get to experience.

The job advert also asks for the professional to help the children get dressed up for Halloween and states that the job should take around four hours, from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday 31st October.

Richard Conway, founder of Childcare.co.uk said,

“When I saw this advert put onto the Childcare.co.uk website, I wanted to help the woman instantly. She’s clearly trying to do the best for her children and is more than happy to pay someone to perform this service.

“I got in touch with her to ask how I could help, and promoting this advert seemed like the best way I could help her. Hopefully more people will see this advert and be willing to help her and her children out. Children usually love getting dressed up and going out trick or treating, so I’m sure the kids will love it!”

I have a lot of sympathy for anyone with social anxiety, of course, but it seems as though this mum has the perfect ‘get-out’ for avoiding an evening of hyperactive kids, an extremely high sugar intake, the risk of walking the streets talking to strangers and encouraging her children to fill their minds with monsters, ghosts, murderers, blood, guts and gore.

What do you think about her posting an advert like this?
