Introducing The Dad Vlog

Don't miss a thing

The Dad Vlog

If you didn’t know already, we’ve launched our very own YouTube channel containing The Dad Vlog. In short, it’s a weekly (ish) video summarising what The Dad Network is all about. You’ll find some bits about what Ted has been up to, a little bit about the world of sports and a recommended gadget! On top of this we share some of our favourite blogs & resources and something from the news about dads. The idea is that it’s a bit like breakfast TV but for dads. It’s a new venture for us and something that we hope will evolve and adapt from week to week.

We’d love to invite you to watch the first 2 episodes and subscribe to our channel so you can watch all the future episodes too!

Good luck with the Vlogs. Thanks for the mention in the first one. Good luck keeping cats out of your house. I support you in this venture, I have no time for domestic pets whatsoever! #BigFatLinky

Thanks John, you’re welcome. Jen decided yesterday she’d like to get Ted some bunnies so wish me luck with that one too! Hope you have a great Easter weekend.

Al, enjoyed all aspects of the vlog. So many things that I could comment on but I want to share with you a suggestion for Ted’s terrible sleeping. Have you ever heard of Doterra essential oils? My wife stumbled upon them a little over a year ago and they’ve worked wonders for our youngest, Fletcher, with his sleeping and tummy trouble. Checkout mydoterra.com/daphnegrice to find some good starting information. They’re totally natural and you just rub the sleepy blend on the bottom of his feet. It sounds super granola but it works. If you have any questions feel free to email me. We were so sold on it that my wife started working for Doterra from home. I’m sure she could send you some free samples. If you’re not interested I totally understand. Just trYing to help a brother out. Keep it up with the vlog… and thanks for being awesome.

Thank you Casey, I appreciate that. And thanks for the heads up on the oils, I will take a look today. Thank you :)

Good luck with the Vlog! Love the leaf instead of the bubbles! I always find that happens. If the girls play with a toy at playgroup I’ve been know to buy it only for them never to play with it at home! I’m very careful about what pictures I share online. I draw the line as naked kid pictures of half naked pictures of my kids. I think some things should be kept private, yet so many FB friends of mine share these types of pictures and I’ve never met them in real life! It’s staggering! Thanks for hosting the linky

  4. Kaye

Love your vlogs! So interesting to see someone talking in the flesh who you’ve only corresponded with online!

  5. International Elf Service

What a cool idea! I definitely would get away with you tube viewing until the kids are in bed – otherwise they’d all fight me for the screen! Love your innovative ideas :) #bigfatlinky

  6. Ali @ Mum in a nutshell

Good luck, I will pop back to try and have a proper watch once my baby isn’t trying to eat the computer wire (very distracting and potentially fatal.) #bigfatlinky

  7. Lisa (mummascribbles)

Good luck with your vlogs :) We went swimming a few times before winter set it and always forgot to take toys…Zach always ended up ‘borrowing’ other people’s – particularly from the girls the little flirt! Need to get back to the swimming pool! Also saw your comment about bunnies…we just rehomed a pair and they are lovely! Although typically it rained just as I started cleaning them out yesterday! That’s the rubbish bit of having rabbits! #bigfatlinky

Ah it’s nice to hear a voice and see someone after just “meeting” online.
Liking the vlogs and interested in seeing more. Ted looked like he loved those pancakes!! xx #bigfatlinky

  9. Laura @ Life with Baby Kicks

Good luck with the vlogging, I love watching blogs evolve and develop its so inspiring. Will be back to have a proper watch when the toddler isn’t screaming he wants Raa Raa on…..#bigfatlinky x

  12. MummyBexm

Really enjoyed both of the blogs, Al. Lovely to see Ted with you – and found the hints, tips, advice etc. really useful. Thanks #bigfatlinky

  13. Louise @ Birds and Lilies

Great vlogs, and I love the style of them. Maybe you can do the sport bit at the end though so we can ignore it, hehe ;) I love it that more and more bloggers are starting to vlog; I love watching them. Good luck with them! :)

  14. Lukeosaurus And Me

Good luck with the vlogs! Maybe the sports section isn’t really for me, but I like the format of the videos. I love watching vlogs, I really should get around to doing some of my own. Those pan cakes looked amazing and Ted looked very happy with the berries. White grow and raspberries – very brave! Ray xx @ lukeosaurusandme.blogspot.co.uk

  15. Mrs Puddleducky

Like the short different topics you cover, have to admit you lost me in the sport sections! Ted looked so cute with the cat (I’m a cat lover!) good luck with your new vlog!

Over “Sharenting” I’ve never heard of this term but I think it’s brilliant!! I try not to, but you know, sometimes it’s hard :)
Great job with the vlog, you kept it interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for all your hard work helping parents connect from all over the globe. #BigFatLinky

  17. Jade Wilson

Good luck with the vlogging! It’s something I keep thinking about venturing into but who wants to look at this mug? Haha. I’m sure you’ll have lots of people coming over to watch :) x

    • Al Ferguson

Thanks for your comment – I hope so. Don’t really know what I’m doing though.

  18. Maria @ Suburban Mum

Great first couple of vlogs – love the fact Ted sits there quiet happily whilst you chat away ;-)

I’d never heard of over sharenting before but was most definitely guilty of this when I first had my eldest – especially on facebook!

Ted looks like he’s going great at swimming already too

    #bigfatlinky

Love the vlogs. The Dad Network and Ted are certainly taking over social media one step at a time.

Thanks for hosting #bigfatlinky every week.
