Fragments of a blue rubber glove were found in one batch

Cow & Gate baby food has been urgently recalled from major supermarkets because it could contain pieces of a blue rubber glove.

The company has said that fragments of the glove were found in some jars of its cheesy broccoli bake stage 3 for babies aged 10 months+.

The FSA (Food Standards Agency) has said that this would make the baby food ‘unsafe to eat.’

Cow & Gate says the affected jars don’t pose a health risk but it’s still recalling them as they don’t meet its standards.

The jars of baby food have been on sale at most major supermarkets, such as Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Boots & Tesco.

Customers should check any jars they’ve purchased and look for the batch code: 28122020 and a best before dare of December 28, 2020.

If you find one of these jars, don’t feed it to your baby but instead, return it to the store you purchased it from with or without a receipt; Cow & Gate has promised that you’ll get a full refund.

Cow & Gate have said, We are sorry that these jars do not meet our usual standards and for any inconvenience this recall may cause. These jars do not pose a health risk, but we are recalling them as they do not meet our usual high quality standards.

If you need any further information you can contact Cow & Gate’s Careline on 0800 977 4000
