My Dad always told me that you only ever borrow your children. Now I understand. In a few years’ time my little guy won’t want to sit on my lap. Play with my hair. Hang onto my leg as I cook tea. And although I still have a few years to go, I’m missing it already.

So I document everything. From his fingernails. To his eyelashes. The way he waddles. The way he sings. The way he trashes the house the moment I put the vacuum away. Through film and photography. I’m making time stand still.

And I would like to help you do the same.

My film and images will evoke the feelings of individual connections, warmth and love. I capture the simple gestures. The guidance, the games, the “looks”. The smallest moments. The songs, the twirls, the giggles. Precious time that can be so easily forgotten. All Unscripted.

Claire will be there to capture the quiet moments that you don’t always notice. The way your baby fumbles her fingers to get a grip on her favourite blanket. The way your one-year-old can’t quite make it from one side of the room to the other.  It’s how your 7-year-old gets so engrossed in his Lego he can’t possibly stop for tea.  It’s the way your teenage daughter plays her music so loud and dances around her room that the lights jingle above your head.  It’s the sigh of relief as you sit down with your husband at the end of the day with a glass of wine and look into each others eyes that tell each other, you’re doing a good job really.

What does an Unscripted Session include?  

I want to live beside you for an entire day and night, in the place where your heart feels most deeply rooted.  To capture the essence of your family at work.

This is more than just a photoshoot.  We’re creating a window into your life.  Captured forever on film.

I want honesty.  I want openness.  If there is sadness, I don’t want it hidden.  If there is harmony, I want star jumps.  More than anything, I want time to allow everyone to get comfortable enough to be honest.

The Unscripted Sessions include:

• One full day and night spent with you documenting every detail of this current chapter of your life story (typically around 400 final images and short film).  You just keep to your daily routine.   I come along for the ride.  We’re not looking for Pinterest poses here, we’re looking for you comfortable, natural, in your own habitat.
• One framed wall portrait.
• The full set of artistically edited high resolution digital negatives in a USB presentation box.
• A film portrait featuring some of your most magical moments from throughout the day.
• A collection of 4×6 images from your session printed as picture postcards with my thoughts and quotes beside the image.  Reminders of the dearest moments, the unforgettable breaths, the littlest steps – to be scattered about your abode.

• Add-on option at an additional investment: a custom designed archival storybook filled with full page spreads of the completed photographs.

Unscripted Sessions are also available as a shorter 3hour session, for £295.  You’ll receive approx 150 high resolution digital negatives, a short film and collection of picture postcards all in a presentation box.
